A new event at the Imperial War Museum at Duxford for 2011. Sally B and Friends, an event celebrating Sally B's long association with Duxford, also it was a way to thank all the supporters of Sally B.
Sunday July 31st arrived and with it some nice summer weather which for any flying is a must. Several of Duxford's resident aircraft graced the flightline, with other visiting aircraft arriving from around the country.
During the afternoon visitors were treated to some precision flying and aerobatics. Sally B was the star of the show and flew no less than three times, with a Spitfire and Mustang and later with a Dakota, a Beech 18 and a Beechcraft Staggerwing. Finally with the SWIPÂ Team in their Twisters. Also flying were a Fiat G.46 and the T-28 Fennec and the only modern aircraft there today, the Extra 330SC flown by Mark Jefferies with his usual stunning aerobatic display.
Elly Sallingboe really pulled the stops out for this one and with the support of other operators and owners and her own dedicated team, and finally a big thank you to all the people who attended the event and the Imperial War Museum at Duxford for hosting the show.
