Duxford's AirSpace hangar was officially opened to the public on 12th July 2008. Over 30 aircraft are displayed, some of them date back to the First World War. More up-to-date aircraft include the Avro Vulcan, Handley Page Victor, English Electric Canberra and Hawker Siddeley Harrier Jump Jet, as well as World War II aircraft, such as the Short Sunderland, Avro Lancaster and Supermarine Spitfire. Also some of the front line RAF aircraft such as Panavia Tornado and the Eurofighter Typhoon are represented.
The public have good access around the aircraft at ground level and also a wonderful view from the high-level walkways. Which gives unlimited photographic opportunities of the topside of the aircraft and the exhibits which are suspended from the hangar ceiling. The hangar also has a large area of aircraft engines and ancillary items on display and is conveniently situated by Duxford's well stocked shopping area and cafeteria.
